Margie RuEllen Robinson, passed from this life on Monday, October 17, 2016 in Mannford surrounded by family at the age of 91. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016 at the funeral home chapel in Cushing with Pastor Randell Newby. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Oilton. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the funeral home in Cushing from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Margie was born on October 14, 1925 to William D. and Myrtle A. (Potts) Medley in Jennings, OK. She grew up and attended school in Jennings. While in high school, Margie played in the band and then graduated in 1941. After graduating, Margie married the love of her life, Ed Robinson, on April 3, 1942 in Jennings. They had six loving kids, Nathan, Athel, Terry, Mike, Sammy, and Marsha. Margie stayed at home to raise her kids. She loved spending every waking moment with her kids. She would often be found in the kitchen, because she loved cooking for her family. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving, because it allowed her to make all kinds of dishes and work in the kitchen.
Once her children, were grown, Margie went to work as a nurse’s aide for Hissom Memorial Center for 20 years and retired in 1974. Once retired, Margie traveled with Ed, especially to their cabin in Flint Creek. It also allowed her to spend her free time collecting dishes, antique shopping, tending to her flowers, cooking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Margie was a caring loving woman, who would put other’s needs in front of her own. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Margie is preceded in death by her husband, Ed Robinson, two sons, Terry and Sammy Robinson, her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Margie is survived by three sons, Nathan Robinson and wife, Judy of Oilton, Athel Robinson and wife, Judy of Oilton, Mike Robinson and wife, Martha of Yale; one daughter, Marsha Tunnell and husband, Ron of Oilton. Margie is also survived by 15 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
