Funeral services will be Friday for Joyce D. Morris of Cushing. She died Sept. 7, 2016 in Stillwater.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in the United Pentecostal Church in Cushing. Burial will be in Euchee Valley Memorial Park in Cushing.
Joyce and her twin sister, Lois, were born Oct. 13, 1948 in Tulsa to Willie and Anna Diggs.
Their mother at a young age. Their father, Willie, married Willie Mae.
Joyce graduated from Langston University and received her master’s degree from Miami University in Ohio.
She married Samuel Morris of Cushing. Together they had three children, Samuel Lamont Morris Jr., the Rev. Quincy Morris and Sheree' Morris.
Joyce was a devoted wife and mother.  
As a child, Joyce grew up singing in the choir. As an adult, she shared her love of music in the church she attended, the United Pentecostal Church of Cushing.
She enjoyed spending time singing and writing music with her children, Rev. Quincy and Sheree' Morris. They performed concerts throughout the area where they lived.
Joyce believed in helping others and providing help to those in need.
She is survived by two sons, Samuel Lamont Morris Jr. and the Rev. Quincy Morris and wife Cami; daughter Sheree' Morris of Ripley; her mother, Willie Mae Diggs of Tulsa; sisters, Lois Diggs of Muskogee and Linda Diggs of Missouri; brothers Rev. William Diggs and wife Joan of Dayton, Ohio; Rev. Michael Diggs of Bartlesville, Curtis Diggs of Tulsa and Byron Diggs of Chicago; an uncle, Andrew Ledbetter of Tulsa; and an aunt, Mable, Seattle, Washington; a special cousin Tessie Garrett of Oklahoma City; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
